The Movement for Black Lives (M4BL) and Electoral Justice Project hosted the 2020 Black National Convention. The BNC was a virtual broadcast featuring a variety of political perspectives within the greater Black American community, discussing a political agenda that speaks to the varied needs of Black Americans and carried through the November election and beyond.

As part of the design team for M4BL, I created various social media assets to promote the Convention, often on quick turnaround time. as well as animated interstitials for Instagram’s Stories feature and static graphics to promote related events while keeping within brand guidelines.

The Branding “Blobs”

The branding was put together by the team’s creative director. The blobs were created under the premise that Black people are not a monolith and that we all have unique, varied, and sometimes oppositional views. The blobs were used to demonstrate that concept.

Here are a few examples of the work done for the convention.
